This is another little treasure in Seoul, there are apparently several but I have only been to the one in Anguk, I’m not really sure if reservations are accepted but I know that before going in you need to get a number first which can either be done online or right at the door, I suggest doing it online via the tabling app tabling.co.kr, as this way you can get your number before getting there giving you an idea of how long you have to wait since there are always a lot of people and later you can use the same app for other places.
Unfortunately the menu has a lot of pages so I only took pictures of the first 3 pages of the menu.
The food here is really good and prepared while you wait so its fresh, when I went there I ordered the Jambon Beurre and the soup of the day.
1.Jambon Beurre
Jambon Beurre is a baguette with Jambon and d’isigny butter, now the listing of the ingredients is an over simplification of the taste, but you can really appreciate the baguette as its a really proper baguette (Super soft on the inside and crusty on the outside) that tasted fantastic and really complemented the jambon nicely, although if you’re not a big fan of too much butter I think you should probably ask for less butter as they are really generous with the butter.
2.Soup of the day
And to go with the Jambon Beurre I also ordered the soup of the day, unfortunately I didn’t get to ask exactly what it was but it was a tomato based soup and maybe its the mystery behind me not knowing but it tasted unbelievable and next time I’m there I’m definitely getting the soup of the day again, I just hope it wont be the same because I’m curious as to how much they’ve experimented with soups.
The place is a bit small so the smells of the food just flood the whole place making the wait for your food unbearable, and the food doesn’t take long, I waited for no more than 10 minutes for everything but the smells made it feel like forever, I just really wanted to eat what I was smelling and when I received the food,,,, it was well worth the wait, the whole experience was just fantastic, I look forward to going back there.
I waited for my turn at a little cafe named little butler, you can read about it in my next post, Or if you fancy something else famous afterwards you can head into the London Bagel Museum which is just across the road from the salt house deli although the queue's are quite unbelievable, they actually stop allowing people to queue for the day by around mid day.
