If you're in Seoul and you either love or really want to try noodles then this place is a must, it's right in Tourist country in Myeongdong so I'm guessing that's where the name came from, apparently there are 3 but I've only ever been to the one in front of the catholic church next to hotel skypark central myeongdong.

But because of how good the food is, the place is always packed although I have been lucky to have never waited, the first time I went there were several groups and only space for 2 so I just walked right in and the last time I went, the line started as soon as I took a seat so I guess I'm just lucky considering this is a Michelin restaurant that as far as I know takes no reservations.
Okay so now let's talk about the food
1. The first time I was there I ordered kalgugsu(칼국수) which are basically knife cut noodles served in a broth along with other ingredients left to the discretion of the chef but MyeongDong GyoJa’s noodles are served in a broth with ground meat, dumplings and some vegetables, I don’t know the broth they use but whatever it is, the whole thing just works as these noodles are definitely in my top 5 of my all time favourites in the noodle category especially considering they only cost 10000 krw.
2. Along with the Kalgugsu I also ordered a serving of dumplings, I typically do not favour boiled or steamed dumplings over fried ones but the steamed dumplings here are to die for and they definitely make me reconsider giving steamed dumplings a chance, I mean these are so good and there are enough for 3 people in 1 serving for only 11000 krw and you can take-away whatever you don’t finish so no wastage.
3. And the last time I was there I had no option but to order the kalgugsu one more time, I had to make sure my memories weren’t wrong considering the first time I was there I was very hungry so I didn’t want that to be clouding my judgement and its safe to say it was as good as I remembered but this time I ordered the bibimgugsu(비빔국수) with the kalgugsu and these are basically cold spicy noodles which are meant for summer but I wasn’t letting that stop me even though it was winter and they were fantastic, definitely a bit spicy but not any less good and these also cost 10000 krw.
And the next time I go plan on trying the Konggugsu(콩국수) considering I haven’t tried them before and I will have completed the full menu because the menu only has 4 items.
