South africa) Protea by marriott Hotel Johannesburg Wanderers review

The protea hotel wanderers is one of the many protea hotels in South Africa but so far this has to be my favourite out of the bunch, the location is ideal, the rooms are nice and the hotel itself in general is nice but not all good things are perfect so lets get into more detail about this hotel.

 
1.Rooms
The hotel is pretty big with a lot of rooms so there's really room for everyone, the views from the rooms aren't really anything special but atleast they're roomy and the amenities are good, the whole room just feels modern but not overdone and if you need a robe or sleepers then you actually have to call house keeping, I was told thats because of availability so I'm still not sure about that.

 
2.Swimming Pool
The swimming pool actually looks nice but unfortunately its a bit small both in length and depth but its strategically placed to just help one relax even if you're just lying on the sun beds.

3.Lounge
Unfortunately there is no lounge instead they just have a happy hour or 2 last I went were you get to sit either in the restaurant inside or outside or by the pool and get a buy 1 get 1 free drink offer with no complementaries.
 
4.Facilities
The hotel has a small pool and a pretty spacious and pretty stocked up gym which is open 24hrs so you can go for a workout if you're feeling restless late at night.
 
5.Breakfast
The breakfast here is served buffet style with a lot of options but unfortunately lacking in variety but the chefs are really nice.

6.Location
The hotel is in a pretty good location in walking distance to alot of places and the feeling of safety is also a plus here, and since its located in the heart of wanderers club its surrounded by sporting facilities from basketball courts all the way to an 18 hole golf course all within walking distance.
 
The hotel is pretty okay whether you're staying for a long time or just a short stay but be sure to collect your receipts before you leave incase you need them for work or taxes because having them emailed is close to impossible for whatever reason.
